Declining Repair Volumes: How Flexible Payments Can Help
14/05/2019
It was reported in am-online.com that the fight for aftersales customers between franchised and independent dealers will become more competitive over the next decade.
Dr Andrew Tongue, research director at the ICDP said, “Against a backdrop of declining repair and maintenance volumes, competition between the OEM-franchised and independent aftermarket sectors is growing ever-fiercer as electrification, connectivity and eventually autonomy are added into the mix”.
As competition grows, the need for dealerships to consider their relationship with consumer becomes increasingly pressing. New solutions and services must be called upon in order to maintain this relationship and provide a better customer experience.
Flexible payments will play a key role in this as consumer spending habits continue to trend towards a pay-monthly option. Giving customers the option to spread the cost of repairs encourages essential work be completed in one visit, rather than relying on that customer returning in three to six months.
